Did you even know that Nintendo were still backing the NES in terms of hardware support? We didn't. Well, if your beloved machine does break from October 31st onwards you'll be sorely disappointed to hear that Nintendo of Japan won't be there to nurse it back to health. Twenty-Two years after making its debut, the NES will no longer be supported by its creators. You won't be surprised to hear that they've made this decision due to parts becoming increasingly difficult to get hold off.

Nintendo of Japan has also revealed that they'll be dropping their support for the Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gameboy, and Gameboy Pocket lines. We've been reminded that this isn't the end to our retro fun if our old machines do break, as via the Wii Virtual download service we can still pick up most of the arcade classics we know and love. It's not the same though, is it?

Yeah, they deserve a medal for that. My NES has been broken for years, I would have got it fixed if I'd have known.
Although it would probably be cheaper to get another on eBay than to send it off for repair

you still have time to get it repaired.

personally, i have always been more of a sega fanboy myself, although its good to know of my n64 does go wrong i can get it repaired i guess, even though it hasn't been used in years.

i never realised that cartridge based consoles could go wrong though… suppose ageing capacitors could be the main problem
